New shawls, new pattern

(removed part about a sale that is now over:))

On to the latest additions: a lesson in patience, one of my favourite Estonian lace patterns. And some fine Italian merino wool.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/224638724/elegant-lace-shawl-antique-rose-handknit

Very soft, very delicate, easy to drape. And the color is just gorgeous: antique rose, very flattering. A truly luxurious shawl:) Plus, it's great to wear, I have one in dark grey and it's definitely my favorite stole for official occasions, but I also wear it as a scarf with a more casual outfit.

There is also something blue; my own design (the pattern will be published soon). Big, cozy, lacy, with mohair.

As for current projects: well, I've just started another luxurious shawl, in a great lacy pattern with nupps. With yarn ever finer than the antique rose one. So it will definitely take some time to finish. Guess I'm enjoying practicing patience:)

Shimmering scarves - seasonal specials:)

OK, so it's almost winter, Christmas just around the corner - time to bring that festive shimmering to your wardrobe. I usually go with greys, but this year I've opted for more seasonal colors: red and green. And I went for things I like most - a big cozy scarf, a ruffled wrap and one more simplicity triangle shawl.

Now, I just love this one. It's big, cozy, structured, shimmering and gorgeously green. Too bad my camera just won't catch the color right. It's emerald. Deep juicy emerald. A tricky color, even the producer's photo on their website is off.

The other color photographs much better - it's amaranth red. Also with a shimmering yarn. I used it to make two items: a Simplicity scarf and a Fiver (both my own designs).

Simplicity is a triangle scarf with lace edging, you've seen a few of those here. It's great for winter to keep your neck warm and look stylish. I also wear it indoors, on the shoulders, it works great in cooler rooms.

Fiver is probably my favorite winter shawl - it's easy to knit (I promise I'll write the pattern down one day), easy to drape, feminine and just a bit different than ordinary shawls and scarves.

So these are the latest additions to the shop, but I have other fivers there, too. This one is slightly larger, the same yarn, but a different color - ecru.

And this one is made from different yarn, without the shimmer, but it has a few rows of beads added:)

That's quite an update, right? I feel a bit excused for being so quiet for such a long time:) Oh, one more thing - I'm running a Xmas sale in the shop. Enjoy!:)

Here comes the bride

They say summer is the best season to get married. I say they're 25% right:) But it's true that summer gives you great clothing opportunities. Ah, all those romantic accessories you can wear outdoors...

Here are some of the bridal shawls from my shop.
Oto kilka ślubnych szali i chust z mojego sklepu.

25% silk, 75% merino wool. In the words of my lovely customer: "gorgeous and super soft".
Made to order, also in other colors.
25% jedwabiu, 75% wełny merino. Słowami przesympatycznej klientki: "Piękny i supermiękki". Dostępny na zamówienie, także w innych kolorach.

25% silk, 75% merino wool. Just listed. Traditional Estonian lace stitch pattern with nupps.
25% jedwabiu, 75% wełny merino. Nowość. Tradycyjny wzór koronki estońskiej - z "bąbelkami".

Big, soft, triangular. 100% Italian merino wool. Very delicate and non-scratchy.
My own design, inspired by Estonian lace.
Duża, miękka, trójkątna. 100% włoskiej wełny z merynosa. Bardzo delikatna i niegryząca.
Projekt własny, inspirowany koronką estońską.

How about adding some color to the wedding?
A może by tak dodać trochę koloru?

Something blue
Coś niebieskiego

Both shawls were knitted from a blend of kid mohair (62%) and polyamide (38%). They're very light and have a delicate halo effect.
Obie chusty zostały zrobione z mieszanki moheru i poliamidu. Są bardzo lekkie i mają delikatny włosek.

And some in pink. Same yarn as in the blue ones.
I jeszcze na różowo. Ta sama włóczka, co w niebieskich.

Fall is in the air

Here's a very autumnal shawl, hand-knitted from a nice blend of mohair and acrylic. You may recognize the stitch, it's classic feather and fan - great for variegated yarn, because it form great wavy pattern. The colors in this one are truly autumnal: rusty reds and oranges, muted greens, teal, different shades of golden browns - just like leaves in September. I like the result very much. The shawl is two meters long and 43 cm wide, it can be worn as a regular, cozy scarf or as a wrap over the shoulders.

The shawl is available here:

And now a teaser of something I'm working on at the moment:
A teraz zapowiedź czegoś, nad czym właśnie pracuję:

Looks good, right?
Wygląda nieźle, prawda?

Busier than a beaver in a coffee lake

I have no idea who said the above words, but they describe my reality perfectly:) I've been working like crazy recently - but I'm happy with that. When you do what you love there is no other way:)

Before I show you my latest project, here's a quick update from the shop:
First of all I'm celebrating the Valentine's Day with a special sale

15% off with coupon code: VALENTINE

If you have never used coupon codes, have a look at this article: http://www.etsy.com/help/article/350 - it tells you how coupons work and how to use them.

Wait, there's more!

February 14 - March 14
is the month of
free worldwide shipping at KnitsDeLuxe!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

OK, now on to the new knits:)

First of all, let me show you a shawl I knitted with one of my favorite type of yarns: kidsilk. It's a gorgeous and luxurious blend of kid mohair (75%) and silk (25%). It looks very elegant and sophisticated; the finished product has a delicate silky shine and shows a subtle halo effect. I love this yarn, it's like a cloud, or whipped cream, - soft, delicate and light as a feather.

My next project is a scarf knitted with another gorgeous blend: alpaca, cashmere and silk. The yarn is hand painted, there are lots of colors available. The scarf is a modified version of the zig-zag shawl and is available as a made-to-order item in my shop.

Last, but not least: back to my two favorites: kidsilk and Queen of the Forest.

I've decided to offer a luxury version of the shawl, again, as a made-to-order item. So if you want a luxurious shawl with leaf pattern, and in the color of your choice, have a look at this listing: http://www.etsy.com/listing/92974189/kidsilk-lace-shawl-triangular-hand

Plus, I'm currently finishing the same shawl but from an even more luxurious yarn (alpaca and silk), and that version will also be available on demand very soon.

That's it for now:) Back to work, back to celebrating:)

Merry Christmas Shawl

It's red, it's golden, it sparkles. I bet it's something Mrs. Santa Claus would wear:)

When I got this yarn I knew it would be perfect for knitting something especially for Christmas. But I didn't want it to be a seasonal garment, so I went for something subtle - a miniature trees that don't have to be trees:) On any other occasion they may be just some geometric lace pattern.

The shawl is incredibly light - only 43 grams (1.5 oz). Size: 160x85 cm (ca.63x33.5")

Available for sale here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/87303417/cyber-monday-sale-merry-christmas-shawl

(Cyber Monday sale continues: use code CYBERSALE to get 15% off the order).

Pre-Christmas knitting madness

There are not enough hours in the day!

For the past weeks I've been knitting like crazy, hence my silence. I'm making new things, dealing with special orders, organizing the shop - it's a total madness. But I'm enjoying it enormously. Here's a quick update on my recent project (all available in my Etsy shop - BTW, I'm running a special sale before Christmas, so look in the shop announcement for current discount codes).

Let's start with something I have made especially for winter. It's a shawl that can be a scarf , or a hooded scarf, or a narrow blanket. I knitted a similar one for myself and I'm wearing it almost all the time. It's long, wide, warm and cozy.

Next two shawls can be worn all year round - they're lace shawls knitted from a very fine kid mohair/polyester blend. Both remind me of the tree just outside my window; one that changed its colors from green to gold.

And now back to winter neckwear: a scarf and a triangular shawl. I absolutely love the colors on both, and the structure of the shawl.

There are more shawls in my shop, so come in, have a look - maybe you'll find something for yourself or for your loved ones. Happy shopping!

Back to knitting triangles

Oh, how I missed it! The excitement of rapidly growing shawl in the beginning and the disbelief of how the speed of growing slows with every new row... One final row takes as much time as the first 10 inches of the whole thing:)

But I really love it. Especially the moment when you cast off and then wash and block the triangle. Only then does the lacy pattern come to life. And only then you see the full awesomeness (that's my favorite word recently:)) of what you've just knitted:)

Anyway, here's the latest addition to my Etsy shop: a winter shawl with lacy edging. Pastel colors, various shades of pink, green and beige. Blend of wool and acrylic.

I've already started knitting another one, this time from something lighter with 60% of mohair (but also very soft and delicate). Here's the teaser:

I want to finish it asap and add it to the shop, so you can buy it before the Black Friday - Cyber Monday sales end. Because I am having a special sale: 10, 20, 30% off, reduced shipping costs, and with every purchase -  a 10% discount coupon on a future order. New knits are not discounted, but you still get reduced shipping and a coupon. The shop is full of great Christmas gifts, so check it out!
