Winter knits in the middle of summer

It's 30 degrees outside, hot and humid, my least favorite weather. So what do I do? I take the chunkiest yarn out of my stash and knit a cowl. Oh yes!:)

Za oknem 30 stopni, duszno i gorąco, nie cierpię takiej pogody. Więc co robię? Wyciągam z pudła najgrubszą włóczkę jaką mam i robię komin. Właśnie tak!:)

Yarn: 65% wool & 35% alpaca. Very warm. Great color - pale gray with beige undertones. It will go with everything.

Włóczka: 65% wełny, 35% alpaki. Bardzo ciepła. Fajny kolor - jasnoszary złamany beżem. Pasuje do wszystkiego.

The shoemaker walks barefoot no more;)

Well, not exactly a shoemaker and barefoot, but a knitter and bareheaded:) I finally managed to finish something for myself - and I really needed it. It's no fun walking around with freezing head. So there it is:)

The pattern: Nantes Hat by Amanda Scheuzger (published in Interweave Knits, Winter 2011) slightly modified at the crown.
Yarn: 1.16 skein of Garnstudio DROPS Karisma Superwash.
Needles: 3.75 (US 5) and 4.5 (US 7)
The result:

Can I just say: I love my new hat!:D
