Two years, three months, three weeks and four days

This is how long it took me to finally finish the simplest thing I've knitted in years:) And here it is:
I don't even have the label for the yarn I used (or rather I can't find it anymore), but I know it is Linate Cotolin, probably a blend of cotton and acrylic, very light (almost 700 meters in a 100 g skein). Needles 2.5.

V-neck, knitted together with the front; back is closed with a crochet.

This jumper could actually be called a tunic - it's rather long (hence the side-slits).And it has 3/4 sleeves. I think it's classic summer something:)

Queen of the Night

Do you know what the worst part of knitting with a black yarn is? That's right - taking pictures. I've finished another shawl, and I am very happy with the result, but my camera just cannot get it right. It makes the shawl gray, blurs the lace pattern, casts weird shadows. Plus, the yarn I've used has a shimmering thread, which makes the task even more difficult...

But you know what, I just can't wait to show you this shawl. So here it is, the Queen of the Night - black, lacy and shimmering.

The pattern I used is Hagakiri 1 from Haapsalu Sall. The yarn is a blend of mohair with acrylic, nylon and polyester, which makes it a bit hairy, but at the same time soft and delicate.

And now I'm off to studying photography - maybe next time I'll manage to take better photos:)

I'm back!

Well, to tell you the truth I wasn't really away, I just had to take some rest from knitting and writing (not that I write that much;)). Having knitted some thing that needed to be knitted, I just had to put the needles down. There is a fine line between love and hate:)

Anyway, I'm back and knitting now. There'll be one more item for the store: a black lace shawl knitted from a very thin yarn (with 50% mohair) that sparkles! Thank you, shiny poly-something:)

And then, I'm finally making something for myself! Actually, I've already started it. It's a jumper, which is not exactly my favorite thing to knit, so I hope nothing distracts me and I finish it before summer arrives. You probably don't know it, but my personal record for finishing a (very simple) project is now 27 months and counting:) Need proof? It's on my Ravelry page. Good news, the knitting on that one is finally done, all that's left is putting it all together. So it shouldn't take too long now:)

To leave you with some photos, here's something I finished before Christmas. It's available at my Etsy store. Yarn: alpaca, wool and acrylic, very delicate; needles: 3.5; pattern: Estonian lace stitch from Haapsalu Sall.
